At the end of July last year saw two things that I had been very excited about happened in one day. Number one; two of my best friends got married and number two; I got to work at Shustoke Farm Barns, a venue I had been dying to work at since I started the business. So here's what went down at the Moss Wedding.
The day started at the gorgeous Dovehouse Farm Cottages for the bridal preparation. If you're getting married at Shustoke Farm Barns I highly recommend you look at these cottages as they're ideal both location wise and just for sheer gorgeousness! As the bride and her bridesmaids got ready for the big day and Fiona slipped into Vera (what else do you call a Vera Wang dress?) the rain that had fallen all morning stopped and revealed beautiful blue skies.
A very nervous Pete waited for his beautiful bride to walk down the aisle but as soon as they were reunited the whole day was full of laughter, fun and drinks among the olive trees. After the ceremony and taking the group portraits I took Fiona and Pete away for a little break and some 'Moss Time' where they could take in that they are now husband and wife.
As we arrived back and a few drinks were drunk it was time for the wedding breakfast. The room looked absolutely stunning dressed for dinner with the rustic nature of the barns complimented by the greys and sparkles that Fiona loves so much. All the guests sat down for dinner with some getting an extra little treat, a lovely chef's hat ready to carve the roasted beef brought to the tables. One guest in particular looked a little too comfortable with the carving knife!
The speeches that followed were incredible; from the emotive to the ridiculous with the best men's game of "Let's get to know Pete". Judging by his Mom's reaction I think there are things she has learnt about her son that she wishes she didn't know (and gave me my favourite ever "Guest reacting to speeches" photograph).
The evening rolled on we were treated to the most beautiful sunset, so beautiful I may have convinced the DJ to delay the first dance for a few minutes. The sun set, the couple danced and then the party started. Some incredible dance moves, phenomenal pizzas and then a little break for some sparklers and some photographs among the trees and the festoon lights.
I adored this wedding, not just because of how much I love Fiona and Pete, but just everything was perfect!
